Abyssal Rugs - A collaboration with Stylecraft Furniture - 2024

Abyssal is an exploration of depth and movement, evoking the fluidity of ocean wave crests rolling over hidden abysses. The rug features bold lines and rich gradients that echo topographical layers, enhanced by a combination of loop and cut pile heights for a dynamic, textured feel. A short matching fringe detail beautifully frames the rug.

Abyssal rugs are handcrafted in India from natural fibres including New Zealand Wool and art-silk.

The range is available exclusively through Stylcecraft.

REPLACED - 2018

American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) invited 8 of Australia’s most highly regarded designers to reimagine their works in American tulipwood.

Anne-Claire Petre, Adam Goodrum, Adam Markowitz, Coco Reynolds, Dowel Jones, Jon Goulder, Ross Gardam and Tom Skeehan rose to the challenge of replacing the timber they normally use for their signature designs with American tulipwood. For generations, Tulipwood has been favoured in Europe but is little known in Australia.

The furniture pieces were exhibited at Denfair Melbourne in 2018.

Seed to Seat: A Journey of Sustainable Design - 2016

The 'Seed to Seat' project, initiated by the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), brought together designers from Australia, New Zealand, and the UAE to explore the true environmental impact of design. This unique collaboration challenged six prominent designers to create innovative pieces that answer the question: "What is the true environmental impact of design?" The open brief called for 'something to sit on', inspiring a range of creative interpretations.

Anne-Claire Petre was honoured to be among the selected designers. Embracing the challenge, she designed the Emi solid timber stool, a testament to her commitment to sustainability and exceptional craftsmanship.
